Starke/Pulaski Habitat for Humanity depends on the support of its donors, sponsors, suppliers, and volunteers for its success. There are several ways you can provide that support:

  • Donations--contact us for ways to donate money directly.
  • Charitable giving--ask us about ways to provide future gifts or ongoing contributions using tax-advantaged methods.
  • Participation in our fundraising events.
  • Provide meals during our Build Projects.
  • Product or materials donation--anything from a box of nails to yards of concrete to a lumber package or land to build upon is very helpful.
  • House sponsorship--contact for more information on how to do this.

We need two different kinds of volunteers:

  • On-site construction helpers: Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. No prior building experience is needed -- we have on-site supervisors to provide hands-on training. You can come as much or as little as you want. We have tools, or you may bring your own. Donuts and other refreshments provided. Volunteers pound nails, hang drywall, carry materials, dig, paint, etc., depending on the stage of building.
NOTE: If you have a special skill such as licensed electrician, plumber, drywall finisher, heavy equipment operator, roofer, carpet and flooring installers, PLEASE consider lending us your expertise!

  • Committee members: Most committees are seasonal and meet as necessary while coordinating a project or event. All skill levels are welcome, no experience necessary -- bring your enthusiasm! Examples of existing committees include: helping to organize fundraising events, selecting partner families, orienting new families to homeownership.
